The Criteria of A Good Teacher for Better Education in Indonesia

How important a teacher for our education? They who think that education is the most important part of our life will say that a teacher is a hero of education. A teacher has major contribution for our education. He/She teaches students the knowledge that is important for their future. There are some great persons because they have taught by the great teachers. We have ever heard the popular saying, “Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher.” This statement shows us how important a teacher is. A good teacher is one of the requirements that must be had by Indonesia for better education. A good teacher should possess knowledge, proper way of teaching, and a good model for students.
The first thing that should be possessed by a good teacher is knowledge. A good teacher must have knowledge about his/her subject matter. By knowing his/her subject matter, a teacher will able to explain it clearly. He/She should prepare the subject matter that will be explained to the students and it should be prepared before the class. A good teacher will not teach the students without knowledge about his/her subject matter. As an addition of his/her knowledge, a good teacher must be sensitive to changes and developments in science and technology. In the era of globalization, science and technology always evolves. A good teacher has to update his/her knowledge to the development of science and technology, so his/her subject mater will not be outdated. To upgrade his/her knowledge, a good teacher should always study. It means that not only students who have to study, but also a teacher.   
Another criteria of a good teacher is having proper way of teaching. In the process of learning, a good teacher must consider the cognitive and affective aspects. A teacher shouldn’t be only concerned with the cognitive aspect by teaching his/her students the materials from the books or modules which are provided by the government. It may lead students to be passive and not creative. They are also easily bored and will be not enthusiastic about the lessons. To achieve the maximum learning process, a teacher must consider the affective aspect by holding a discussion or practice. He/She must also provide the opportunity for students to ask the questions. It will make them be enthusiastic in learning process. To guide a teacher in teaching, he/she has to have a lesson plan. It must refer to the standard of competency that has to be achieved by the students. A good teacher will make it at the beginning of school year and he/she will not copy it from another teacher. To have the proper way of teaching, a teacher must focus on the purpose of learning. The purpose of learning is to transfer knowledge to his/her students and to make them be active in the learning process.
In addition, a good teacher has to give a good model for students. It is because education is not only to transfer knowledge, but also to transfer values. First of all, a good teacher should discipline. Before he/she disciplines the students, he/she must discipline him/herself first. For the example, he/she doesn’t be late attending his/her class. A good teacher also doesn’t get angry easily. In fact, the students are not comfortable in learning process if their teacher gets angry easily. They will be afraid to ask question and be passive. It makes the condition is not conducive. Because of that, a good teacher is a teacher who can control his/her emotion. The last, a good teacher has great concern for his students. He/She knows who his/her students are. He/She will help his/her students if they have any problems. It means that he/she care with his/her students.  
In conclusion, there are some criteria of a good teacher that should be possessed by our teacher for better education in Indonesia. The quality of education in Indonesia will increase if we have many good teachers and also attain improvement of system and facilities of education in Indonesia. The government should provide several trainings for teacher to be a good teacher. On a small scale, a good teacher will be loved by his students and make them enjoy the class.

Berbagai daerah di Indonesia memiliki kesenian khas masing-masing, seperti kesenian Tari Pendet di Bali, Wayang Golek di Jawa Barat, Randai di Minangkabau, Musik Kolintang di Manado, Tari Tor-Tor di Sumateta Utara, serta kesenian batik di berbagai daerah dengan pola batik khas masing-masing. ODT Bogor 28.12.16

Disaat teman kantor (a.k.a grup ABG) sedang trip ke jogja dan ada pula yang pulang kampung, saya stay di Cibinong saja wkwk. Antara menyesal dan tidak sih karena tidak ikut ke jogja. Tetapi, berhubung libur masih panjang dan kaki ga mungkin betah cicing wae di rumah, akhirnya terpikirkan untuk menjalankan rencana jalan-jalan ke curug di Bogor dan wisata kuliner disana yang pernah terpikirkan untuk direalisasikan saat weekend, tetapi belum terealisasi #wacana. Lalu pertanyaannya, sama siapa? Kebetulan sebenernya orang kantor-an belum libur, kemudian teringatlah saya punya teman yang jadi guru. Guru kan pasti libur sesuai anak sekolah yang lagi libur. Jadi, akhirnya saya ajaklah miftah dan cahaya untuk nyurug dan ngewiskul di Bogor. Setelah searching curug yang masih mudah dijangkau angkot, terpilihlah Curug Nangka !
